The Ride-On Commercial High Speed (CHS) formula is designedto coat the crown of the tire (see diagram). The shape of the tire casing andthe centrifugal force generated by tire rotation force Ride-On to cover theinside crown area. Ride-On is not designed to protect the outer 1" to 1.5”(2.5 to 4 cm) of a tire's tread near the shoulder areas. The effectiveness insealing punctures in the tire crown is estimated to be 85 to 95 percent intubeless tires. In tubed tires, the effectiveness drops to about 55 to 65percent, due to the presence of two membranes and the tendency of tubes to tearor rupture when punctured.
Ride-On dosages are calculated to maximize sealing efficacy in the crown area of tires. The tread area outside the crown is a flex point and is outside the belt package. Tire manufacturers do not recommend using conventional repairs for punctures in these areas. Similarly, Ride-On is not designed to seal punctures outside the crown area. Only reinforced section repairs should be used to fix any injury outside the tire crown, if repair is possible at all.
If you notice a tire injury outside the coverage area, we strongly recommend removing the tire from service immediately for inspection by a certified tire professional. Only a certified professional can determine if a conventional plug and patch repair or a section repair is necessary or possible.
The Ride-On Heavy Duty Off-Road (HDOTR) formula is designedfor off-road equipment operating at speeds below 35 mph (55 km/h). Therecommended dosages for Ride-On HDOTR are formulated to cover a wider tirefootprint. Using the severe dosage of the Ride-On HDOTR formula will help sealvent hole leaks, small sidewall injuries, and most bead leaks.
