AUTO/SUV Dosage Calculations

In order to calculate the dosage requirements for an AUTO/SUV tire, you need to use the following formula. Please email us each tire size that you find that is not in our dosage table so that we can add it to future versions.
Width (in.) X Height (in.) X .0654 = dosage round to the nearest ounce
For severe applications multiply by 1.25
Sample Tire: 285/35R19
285 = tire width in Milliliters
35 = aspect ratio = % of tire width that each sidewall is tall
19 = wheel diameter in inches (in)
To convert from Milliliters to inches multiply by .0393
Example:
Width = 285 x .0393 = 11.2 inches
Height = 11.2 inches x .35 x 2 (two sidewalls) + 19 = 26.8 inches
Dosage = 26.8 x 11.2 x .0654 = 20 ounces
Severe dosage = 20 x 1.25 = 25 ounces

Motorcycle Dosage Calculations

Width (in.) X Height (in.) X .075 = dosage round to the nearest ounce.
Since early 2021 we have moved to a one dose recommendation for motorcycles. The new regular dose is the old severe dose. There is no reason to add more sealant to the tire.
The dosage calculated by this calculator is the correct dosage and supersedes anything you find in our printed or PDF’s dosage tables. In case of a discrepancy, always select the dosage that has been calculated by the online Dosage Calculator.
When installing the Motorcycle sealant using dosages calculated by the calculator, you may remove your wheel weights if you wish.
However in the rare event that you have more than 2 to 2.5 ounce (total) of wheel weights on the wheel, please contact us for further instructions. In these rare cases you might have to add a few more ounces of sealant to overcome the gross amount of wheel weights that are being removed.
Sample Tire: 180/60R16
180 = tire width in Milliliters
60 = aspect ratio = % of tire width that each sidewall is tall
16 = wheel diameter in inches (in)
To convert from Milliliters to inches multiply by .0393
Example:
Width = 180 x .0393 = 7.1 inches
Height = 7.1 inches x .60 x 2 (two sidewalls) + 16 = 24.52 inches
Dosage =7.1 x 24.52 x .075 = 13 ounces

ATV Dosage Calculations

In order to calculate the dosage requirements for an ATV tire you need to use the following formula. Please email us each tire size that you find that is not in our dosage table so that we can add it to future versions.
Width (in.) X Height (in.) X .087 = dosage round to the nearest ounce For severe applications multiply by 1.50
Sample Tire: 24 x 8 - 11
8 = Tire Width in inches
24 = Tire Height in inches
11 = Rim Diameter in inches
Dosage = 24 x 8 x .087 = 17 ounces
Severe dosage = 17 x 1.5 = 24 ounces

Commercial Truck Dosage Calculations

In order to calculate the dosage requirements for a commercial truck tire you need to use the following formula. Please email us each tire size that you find that is not in our dosage table so that we can add it to future versions.
Width (in.) X Height (in.) X .082 = dosage round to the nearest ounce For severe applications multiply by 1.25
Sample Tire: 295/80R22.5
295 = tire width in Milliliters
80 = aspect ratio = % of tire width that each sidewall is tall
22.5 = wheel diameter in inches (in)
To convert from Milliliters to inches multiply by .0393
Example:
Width = 295 x .0393 = 11.6 inches
Height = 11.6 inches x .80 x 2 (two sidewalls) + 22.5 = 41.1 inches
Dosage = 41.1 x 11.6 x .082 = 39 ounces
Severe dosage = 39 x 1.25 = 49 ounces
